FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR CENTER FOR THE ARTS OUTDOOR ART INSTALLATION CELEBRATING 20TH ANNIVERSARY

Jackson, WY | May 5, 2026 — Center for the Arts (The Center) announces four finalists for a new outdoor art installation in The Center Park, set to be unveiled in summer 2027.

The selected work is intended to be a piece that invites community interaction and engagement, seamlessly melding The Center Park’s multi-use outdoor space with artistic flair. The ideal installation will complement the 62,000-square–foot park’s role as a venue for performances, community events, and daily recreation.

After releasing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) in January, The Center and Jackson Hole Public Art received over 160 applications from artists across the country. The selection committee – a team comprising art curators, architects, neighbors of The Center, and representatives from Jackson Hole Public Art and The Center – has identified the top four finalists, who will submit final proposals this spring.

Michael Beitz: With roots as an artist and furniture maker, Beitz’s work focuses on functional design with abstract picnic table-style seating.

Jeanine Centouri and Russell Rock (Urban Rock Design): An architect and Fellow of the American Academy of Architects [FAIA], Centuori’s work meshes form with interactive play in geometric designs.

John Grade: Renowned for his installations inspired by changing ecosystems in the natural world, Grade is known for immersive, large-scale, site-specific installations that blend natural inspiration with interactive art designs.

Ben Roth: A contemporary Jackson Hole artist, Roth is inspired by the logic and genius of nature, and is known for his sculptures made with unique materials, one-of-a-kind furniture, and prints..

“Our pool of finalists bring very different strengths and ideas to the table, and we’re excited to see final proposals,” Marty Camino, Executive Director at The Center, said. “We have a diverse selection committee that will help to ensure that this art installation will serve the community and our neighbors, bring creative inspiration to our campus, and be a piece of work that will thrive throughout the seasons in Jackson.”

The winner will be selected this June, with a plan to install the new public art in the summer of 2027.
