Center for the Arts Announces Open Call for Outdoor Art Installation Celebrating 20th Anniversary

Jackson, WY | January 21, 2026 — Center for the Arts in Jackson, Wyoming announces an open call to artists for a bold, imaginative and enduring outdoor art installation to honor its 20th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

The selected work will be installed in The Center Park – a prominent green space at the heart of downtown Jackson – and is intended to be a piece that invites community interaction and engagement, seamlessly melding our multi-use outdoor space with artistic flair. The ideal installation will complement the 62,000-square–foot park’s role as a venue for performances, community events and daily recreation.

“The Center came about from a need to protect and preserve the local arts scene in Jackson,” said Marty Camino, Executive Director of Center for the Arts. “As we approach our 20th year, we’re celebrating two decades of providing stability and rootedness for an arts community that inspires creative expression across nearly every medium. We look forward to supporting an installation that captures the spirit of Jackson and our vibrant creative community.”

The Center has engaged Jackson Hole Public Art, a Resident of the Center for the Arts campus and a key institutional partner, to serve as the Project Manager for this initiative. The call invites professional artists and artist-led teams from across the United States to submit qualifications for a large-scale, four-season outdoor sculpture or installation. The artwork should demonstrate a strong connection to place, complement the flexible use of The Center Park, and enhance the daily vibrancy of the campus, and applicants should demonstrate the capacity to deliver outdoor public artworks of comparable scale, budget, and complexity.

How to Apply

Artists are asked to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) through CallForEntry.org (CaFÉ). At this stage, applicants should not submit detailed concepts or designs. A shortlist of finalists will be invited to develop full proposals and will receive a $500 honorarium.
