Jackson Hole Poetry Box Located @ the Valley Bookstore
The Poetry Box
is a depot of lyrical artistry that places poetry in the hands of
everyday people. The freestanding box of poems by local and regional poets
entices passers-by to reach in the box and take a free poem with them. The box will be stocked with a new poem every week, encouraging the message that poetry can be found anywhere.
The Poetry Box is a collaborative project of the Jackson Hole Public Art Initiative, Teton County Library, the Jackson Hole Review and the Jackson Hole Writer's conference. The box itself is designed by local artist, John Frechette, furthering the project’s investment in Jackson’s artistic community. Featured poems will be culled from the Jackson Hole Review, pARTners classes, Library visiting speakers and writers, and local and regional writing programs.
